CAT BEHAVIOUR
CONSULTATIONS

Dr. Ledger provides assessments and management plans for cats experiencing a variety of behavioural and emotional issues.

Your vet may have recommended Dr. Ledger's services if they feel your cat could benefit from science-based clinical behavioural therapy.

APPOINTMENT > WHAT TO EXPECT

  1. Pre-Appointment:
     

    • Once we hear from your veterinarian, you will receive a comprehensive introductory email, plus a phone call to discuss our rates process.
       

    • You will then be sent a cat history questionnaire upon booking, which is to be completed and returned to us prior to your appointment.
       

  2. Day of Appointment:
    ​

    • 1st Hour: 1-hour virtual/phone call to discuss your cat's behavioural history.
       

    • 2nd Hour: 1-hour virtual or in-home assessment, discussion of your cat's condition, and his/her management plan.
       

    • 2 Hours: Dr. Ledger will prepare a comprehensive report for you and your veterinarian.
       

  3. Appointment Inclusions:
     

    • Collaboration with your veterinarian regarding the initial consultation.
       

  4. Follow-Up Sessions:
     

    • Fee-based 30-minute to 1-hour follow-ups are recommended as needed after the initial consultation.

If you are considering behavioural therapy for your cat, and you have pet insurance, it's a good idea to check with your insurance provider to determine whether Dr Ledger's services are covered by your plan. Many pet insurers will cover Dr Ledger's fees, in full or in part, when your claim is eligible.
